Towns

Towns are groups of buildings that appear across the map, they produce passengers and (since 2nd era) mail which can be transported in order to earn Money Tokens . Also, in later eras, there appear consumer stores, where you can deliver certain cargo in order to generate more Money Tokens . Also, delivering all of the commodities and passengers causes cities to grow. Town buildings could be upgraded by strategically placed City Extensions found in Extension tab of any house info window.
