The Foundry building converts Coal and Iron Ore, taken from Coal Mine and Iron Ore Mine, and Smelts it into Iron. Iron Ingots are used by: Toolworks and the Ruined Church Quest.
The base unit of the Foundry consumes 5 Coal and 3 Ore and produces 2 Iron and 2 Coal Tokens every Game tick. A fully upgraded Foundry will consume 10 Coal and 7 Ore and produce 4.5 Iron and 2 Coal Tokens every Tick.
