Oil Wells Default Model.png

Oil Wells are the source of Crude Oil Icon oil.png, which can be sent for processing to the Refinery to become Diesel Icon diesel.png, or to produce Goods Icon goods.png if the Propane Plant extension is built at a Refinery. Also, from 5th Era forward, you can use Crude Oil Icon oil.png as fuel in Oil Power Station as long as you build Crude oil incinerator extension.

Processes

The base version of the Oil Wells generate 1 Crude Oil Icon oil.png per Game tick. The crude oil Icon oil.png production can be increased using 3 additional Oil Wells, which unlock sequentially as you progress throughout the game. Each provide 1 additional Crude Oil Icon oil.png every Game tick. Futhermore, you can build The Desalination Plant, which provides 3 additional Crude Oil Icon oil.png every two Game ticks. When all extensions are built around the base Oil Wells it produces an average of 5.5 units of Crude Oil Icon oil.png per Game tick.

The Desalination Plant building can be connected to the electrical network E energy.png from Era 5 onward, by doing so, the production of this building doubles.
